Town will be dedicated to the people of New Lexington.
New Lexington is the County Seat of
Perry County and is located at the picturesque western end of the
Appalachian plateau at the start of the Southern Ohio hills. The
city is 60 miles from Columbus, 167 miles from Cleveland, 141
miles from Cincinnati and 160 miles from Pittsburgh, Pa. The
population is slightly over 5,000 & the government includes a
Mayor & Seven Councilmen. Financial institutions in New
Lexington include three banks, while community facilities are
weekly & daily newspapers, one District Library, plus two
hospitals in Zanesville & Lancaster serve the city. Recreation
includes a public bowling center, outdoor swimming pool, public
parks & tennis Courts. New Lex has a college, elementary and
high school. Utilities for the city is a daily water supply
obtained from two reservoirs and ample electricity and gas service. Public
transportation is provided New Lex by countywide transit, plus an
airport is available for public use. Two state highways in the
city provide direct access to Interstate roadways. Intersection of
Interstate 70(east-west) and 71 (northeast-southwest) is less than
40 miles away.
